The course aims to provide insights into the complex pathomechanism of various highly prevalent and clinically important diseases, including inflammatory and stress-related gastrointestinal disorders, ischemic heart disease, mood disorders, neurodegenerative disorders, sensorineural hearing loss or neuropathic pain. Besides overviewing the traditional pharmacological treatment of these diseases, the lectures also focus on their recent research and on novel, promising targets for drug development.
During the semester maximum 3 absences are acceptable. At the end of the course students are required to take a test exam.
