Objectives of the subject, its place in the medical curriculum: The Semmelweis Symposium, the most prestigious scientific event at Semmelweis University, is organised around a different theme each year. It is always held close to the anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Medicine, on 7 November. The official language of the programme is English.
The primary aim of the thematic Semmelweis Symposium, which has been held annually since 1992 with international participation and encompasses the entire university, is to stimulate the academic community at the university and to promote international knowledge transfer and networking.
The Symposium also provide accredited training opportunities for professionals and PhD students by presenting the latest research results and innovations.
